All classes are designed to encourage creativity and independent knitting, as such there is a very strong emphasis on reading, understanding and interpreting patterns for all classes.

Size of class
Classes are small - limited to 6 people per class. Classes are ongoing and places do became available.

Materials
Fees do not include materials. Materials can be purchased at spotlight Everyone registered for class will receive 10% for all knitting materials at Spotlight for duration of course.

When
Classes are on Mondays and Thursdays 6.30pm or Friday 10.30am.

Basic knitting
This is where you begin your knitting adventures! You will make 2 projects a tissue pouch and a bobble hat. You will learn the basic stitches, correct technique, how to interpreting simple patterns, as well as increasing and decreasing stitches.

Intermediate knitting
Learn to make booties, and baby sweaters. You will learn the fundamentals of lace, lace edgings and panels, as well as how to place panels. This class requires more will ensure that you can read and interpret patterns and charts. You will also learn how to interpret Japanese knitting patterns.

You will also learn circular knitting, using double pointed knitting needles and "magic loop" techniques to make a lacey hat, a pair of socks, or a pair of fingerless gloves.

Advanced knitting: Accessories & summer top
The aim of this class is to read and interpret knitting patterns for a summer top.

Learn how to use colour in knitting, stripes, intarsia & fair isles colour knitting techniques. You will also learn aran knitting, also known as cables.

Basic crochet
Learn the basic stitches and techniques to make simple and lovely items. Crochet is complements knitting beautifully. It allows you to create lacey borderers and embellish your knitting projects.

You will llearn basic stitchs, crochet symbols and names of stitches, and following charts. A lfiligree afiligree lace coaster and 2 circular doillies are projects for this course.

This class covers more crochet advanced techniques.

Learn to create layered flowers, granny squares, joinging motives, working with colour & reading patterns.

So you want to make a quick scarf as a gift for someone but you can't knit? With the knitting loom you can. Make scarves and has as gifts with no knitting experience. With a knitting loom, all your stitches will be neat , your items will look handknitted.
